From the Teacher:
In math class this week, we will begin Chapter 2 in the book. We will discuss even and odd numbers and place value of 3- and 4-Digit Numbers. This includes knowing standard form, expanded form, and word form which is discussed on page 22 in the book. In Grammar this week we will be studying Subjects and Predicates of sentences and having a test on these on Friday. In third grade we combine Social Studies and Science into a block and alternate subjects each week. Last week we began our Science unit on the Human Body: Skeletal System. This week we will begin our Social Studies unit on Communities. We will be discussing Chapter 1 in the Communities book which covers United States and World Communities and showing respect for others in the community.
