Newsletter

Remember that in addition to being out Friday, students will also be out next Monday, so they will have a four day weekend. In between having fun and relaxing, this would be a great time to take advantage of the long weekend by making sure your children read as many AR books as they can to test on when they return, as well as an ideal time to study and review their multiplication facts. We are still doing multiplication quizzes, and it is extremely important that your children learn and remember their multiplication facts. Please use this long weekend to have your child read and study their multiplication.

Below is a look ahead at next week's newsletter. (Note: You can also access a copy of the newsletter as a Word document to view, download or print by clicking here.)

From the Teacher:

In math class this week, we will continue Chapter 6 in the math book. We will be counting bills and coins, making equivalent sets, comparing money amounts, making change, and adding and subtracting money. In Grammar we will be discussing how to correctly write singular and plural nouns. In third grade we combine Social Studies and Science into a block and alternate subjects each week. This week we will begin our new AMSTI kit on Rocks and Minerals. We will be conducting different investigations with mock rocks this week. We will still be reading the story, The Graves Family, by Patricia Polacco this month and discussing the importance of developing good, healthy friendships and respect for others. If you have access to the Internet at home, you can research the author, Patricia Polacco to learn more about her writing and books in order to encourage the students to read more of her books.
