Newsletter: ARMT week

This week students are taking the ARMT math and reading tests. We will have rewards for those on the "Try Your Best" list at the end of the week.

Third Grade Newsletter

April 9-13, 2012

Homework:

There will be no written homework this week due to ARMT Testing. Students do need to do 15 minutes of Reading each night this week and record it on their April Reading Logs.

Calendar of Events:

· IDENT-A-Kid Child ID Day will be Wed., April 11^th. Forms were sent home in last week’s Thursday Folders. Money and forms are also due on this date.

· Fri., April 13^th: Scholastic Book Orders due

· April 10-11: ARMT Reading Test and April 12-13: ARMT Math Test. Please be sure your child is present EVERY day of testing. Our classes can receive pizza parties if we have 100% Perfect Attendance for ARMT testing days.

· Please refer to all of the testing tips Mrs. Runyan sent home on the purple sheet in the students’ Thursday Folders last week. These are important in helping all of our students do their very best on the tests this week.

· Tues., April 17^th: Progress Reports Go Home

· Friday, April 27^th: McWane Center Field Trip

· May 3-May 7: School Holiday

· May 11^th: Field Day

· May 17^th: Awards Day Grades 3, 4, 5 at 12:00

· May 24^th: Students’ Last Day

· Please remember to collect Box Tops for Education.

· April Reading Logs will be due Friday, April 27^th. We will expect a total of 240 minutes on this reading log. It only counts if each entry has parent initials. These are a Reading grade each month. Please be sure you help your child complete the required 60 minutes per week.

· We do have an April Math Calendar for this month. These are due by Tuesday, May 1^st. Please be sure your child completes these before that date. It will count as a Math grade.

***There will be no Spelling and Vocabulary words for this week due to the ARMT Testing.
